"Gives a careful, through, consultation to assess your needs and give you the best care. It was my first time. I could not find the office and I was late, yet, he was kind and understanding. Somehow he makes you feel incredibly comfortable while poking you with needles. I felt renewed after my session. I will definitely be returning."

"Dr. David is incredible. I have a huge fear of needles, but he is so gentle and makes the experience very relaxing. I now get acupuncture and cupping weekly. I was in excruciating pain from sciatica and since I've been coming in for acupuncture the pain has been getting much better. I highly recommend acupuncture."

"Dr. A is truly amazing. I came in with extreme pain not to mention I found him on Yelp called at the last min, and just like that Dr.A called me back and told me to come in. I had very bad sciatica, been suffering for awhile. Let's just say that presentation is everything the office was so inviting very elegant smelled amazing and nice relaxing zen full music.
Dr.A was very professional as he explained everything as he did it which for me being a first time getting acupuncture made it much more comfortable, he also preformed cupping on my back, all truly an amazing experience.
Afterwards no more pain in my sciatica, and I felt very relaxed I will be coming to see Dr.A again as much as my PPO allows. I recommend this for anyone who wants to try acupuncture as he is very gentle and explains in detail, anyone just looking to relax try it.
Dr.A is truly a ZEN master."

About Me

You did it! You are here. The first step towards change is recognizing you need support. Life can present with challenges, obstacles or barriers that can throw you off your course. Looking within, building coping skills and having a safe place to explore your feelings, thoughts and emotions will help guide you back on your course. As a licensed MFT and Art Therapist Channie (sha-nee) utilizes an eclectic, collaborative, holistic approach to guide an individual to externalize their pain in both verbal and non-verbal forms of expression, to connect mind, body and spirit and increase overall functioning in all areas of one's life. Channie received my Masters Degree (MA) from Phillips Graduate Institute, with a major in Marriage and Family Therapy and Art Therapy with over 10 years of service.

Channie specializes in working with adolescent girls, transitional youth, addictions, grief, bereavement, anxiety, OCD, chronic pain and depression. As an art therapist, Channie is familiar with utilizing alternative forms of expression, such as art expression, movement therapy, music therapy, and play therapy in addition to traditional talk therapy. Art therapy is a non-verbal modality of self-expression to better understand one's emotional conflicts, develop social skills, improve self-esteem, decrease symptoms of anxiety, depression, anger and improve overall functioning.

Seeking help is one of the hardest things to do. Making the first phone call is the next step towards your recovery. Finding the right therapist is so important in your treatment. "My promise is, if it's not a good fit for you, I will provide you assistance in finding a therapist that can guide you to a positive experience in your recovery".

As a mother of three young children, Channie has a deeper understanding of the challenges a family might face, and a greater appreciation to the family dynamic. She is passionate and dedicated about her field to inspire positive change and growth in a supportive and safe environment.

Testimonials

"Helen’s focus was on strengthening my core rather than concentrating on a single area or two of weakness. She gave me a new awareness of my body and how it works as a whole, not as many separate and disparate parts. And because I was dealing with a chronic illness of more than thirty years, Helen had to devise specific methods to accommodate my limitations. I always felt challenged, encouraged and like I was making progress and gaining strength. I would highly recommend Dr. Helen Setyan to anyone serious about building strength and body awareness." S.
